I recently posted a job advert on Linkedin.com.

I was amazed at how many qualified local candidates responded. We received over a dozen great candidates and have offered one of them the position.

While I knew that Linkedin.com had a lot of great people signed up to it, I didn't think that too many Torontians knew about it. I was wrong.

The percentage of qualified respondants was also higher than any other online job site. I only recieved one respondant from Mexico wanting me to move him and his family to Canada and only one Silicon Valley business-God-wanna-be that wanted the job, didn't want to move, but... [ More ]

I recently got reacquainted with LinkedIn.com, the online networking service that connects

It works by linking you to your contacts (people you know), then if you want to contact someone that you do not know (for instance to pitch a new business plan), it will get you in touch by following a list of connections. Someone you know will know someone, who will know someone else, and so on until you reach the desired person.

Interesting concept, which I'm using to search out new interesting opportunities.
